The 2024 NCAA Tournament has been full of great games and performances — the magic and madness of March are upon us! SEC teams are advancing into the Sweet 16 with more set to see whether they can punch their tickets today. There is a great matchup in Raleigh, N.C., Monday with Tennessee taking on NC State, and there is a lot swirling around at LSU, which is on to the Sweet 16. Analyst Missy Heidrick breaks it all down with Gabriella Lewis of The Next, who knows all things about SEC women’s basketball and is reporting from Raleigh.

Missy and Gabriella started by discussing Tennessee–Green Bay and Chattanooga–NC State.
“It was close in the first half,” Gabriella said of the first matchup. “Green Bay played very good defense, and then Tennessee simply ran away with it. NC State got a big win over Chattanooga, and the coming matchup of NC State and Tennessee at 4 p.m. promises to be an interesting one: “Totally up in the air,” Gabriella said.

Missy and Gabriella also check in on the conversation surrounding LSU after the team advanced to the Sweet 16. Head coach Kim Mulkey gave a statement to reporters criticizing a piece apparently in the works at the Washington Post about her that may be published this week. “I think [the story] may galvanize them more than anything,” Gabriella said. “A lot of the players on her roster really stand by her. And there are probably some players who maybe don’t feel as strongly, but it may galvanize them.”
